For the last month, I've had horrible luck with AG items and stuff...
FIRST I have been trying for months to change my e-mail address for AG specials. I've talked to everyone from CS to Club CS and have succeeded in now receiving no e-mails...even shipping confirmations which I was previously receiving on my new e-mail address.
THEN I sent in my Our New Baby for an eye transplant (silver eye), but when she came back one eye didn't open completely and when lying on her side, one eye stays open and one stays shut. I called CS and paid to re-send her to hospital. I got her back with a letter explaining that I shouldn't expect the eyes to be "perfectly synchronized". A call to CS explaining the real problem, paid to resend Bitty...still waiting for her return.
THEN I placed an order for a BB replacement part and CS talked me into adding to the order (it wasn't hard). I waited but it didn't show. When I called CS but they had no record of the order so I ordered everything again.
THEN it came, but I still didn't get the replacement part that I originally called about, so another call to CS to straighten it out. Still waiting for the BB item.
THEN I sent my poor abused TS find Addy to the hospital for a new head. Just like Prsnlord I was anxiously counting the days as I gave my PM Addy to my mom and as Addy is my favorite I really, really wanted my new one home. She came back with new head & limbs with a letter of explanation. Now her old torso doesn't match her new limbs...the sockets are a different color and size as her limbs so there are large gaps where the new limbs attach. I can actually stick my finger between the limbs and sockets! Yet another call to CS, trip to post office and $10 in shipping so Addy could go back to the hospital one more time.
THEN I ordered Addy's cutter sled, but it had damage on the top so called CS & made a trip to UPS store for return.
THEN I received an order for Sam's talent show dress. I really love this dress and have been waiting for it to go on sale. When Sam tried it on, one of the sleeves is signifcantly smaller than the other so the velcro doesn't meet to close at her wrist. A call to CS and am waiting for replacement and return sticker, then another trip to UPS store.
THEN today I received the replacement sled. Wow, that was fast! Too happy too soon. Upon unpacking I noticed that the box was damaged (oh well), the packing styrofoam had large chunks out of it (oh, oh) the sled was sloppily packed (no, please, no) and YES the sled was broken. They had obviously packed up someone elses return and sent it to me!

Aww I'm sorry you are having such a horrible month! Don't worry, if you keep your chin up things will get better [img]graemlins/rainbow.gif[/img]

So disapointing when things like this happen. I hope it all gets fixed. Broken sleds, have heard of this before. I am guessing that is why they have stopped selling them.
Are the legs smaller then the old legs. That does not sound good.
Hope April is better for your AG goodies.

I am so sorry that you are having a bad AG month! It seems that everything that could go wrong is doing so for you. I really hope that everything works out beautifully for you from now on! I've got to send a Kirsten doll in for an eye replacement and have been putting it off as I'm a bit nervous. I know that there are tons of people who have said that they've had good results with the hospital. Hopefully Addy will arrive home in perfect condition for you this time! - Meg B.

If I were you, I would put all of what you said in a letter to AG. It obviously shows how good of a customer you are- with all your purchases, and I have to think this is not typical of their customer service. If they are smart, they will refund you some of your shipping expenses in the form of a certificate. In fact, I would request that in the letter- a refund for the shipping of the items that you had to send back repeatedly. Mention the part about wanting to buy another doll, but being hesitant to do so.
Sorry this has happened. I know it can take all the joy out of what should be a fun experience.

that would be enough to turn anyone away from AG, I hope your next experience is a better one and they can do something to reimberse some of your shipping costs.

I agree about the shipping costs. If you have to return something as the result of their error, they should pay the shipping costs. They have often sent me a free shipping label, so that I can just drop off the item at the closest UPS store. I would call Customer Service and ask to talk to a supervisor. Good luck!

What an awful month! I hope things will get better soon.
Sadly, Addy's sled seems to be the most fragile of all AG products, at least for shipping. I like it so much that when I realized it was being retired, I decided to order a second one for my Sarah. Sure enough, it arrived broken. Fortunately, a little wood glue fixed the problem. That was actually an improvement over my first sled, which arrived splintered! I suppose this is why AG has retired it and I hope they'll come back with a sturdier version.
